Sam Morrow has created a sound that exists somewhere outside of genres and geography. It's his own version of modern American roots music: a blend of roadhouse rock & roll, bluesy R&B, and funky-tonk country, driven by groove, grit, and guitars. On The Ride Here, Sam Morrow's fifth studio album, was produced by longtime collaborator Eric Corne, with a lineup of West Coast all-star musicians, including bassist Ted Russell Kamp, keyboardist Sasha Smith, and drummers Matt Tecu and Butch Norton, who added primal punch and raw polish to the 11 songs. Morrow rewrote several tracks once the initial tracking sessions were complete, aiming to deliver the tightest, most taut album of his career. The result is a forward-thinking record that encapsulates his sound better than any previous album.
