The pillars of British indie pop Saint Etienne follow their critically acclaimed 2021 album, I've Been Trying To Tell You, with their 12th studio album, The Night. Continuing Saint Etienne's tradition of telling immersive stories through sound, The Night offers an ambient escape from the chaos of daily life by capturing the essence of the after-hours. It takes listeners on a journey through layers of tranquility, offering calm to restless minds and a gentle respite from the relentless pace of modern life. The album, produced by Saint Etienne in collaboration with composer and producer Augustin Bousfield, was recorded in Saltaire and Hove, from January to August 2024. The cover features a photo by architectural photographer Darren Holden, while the album's liner notes are written by award-winning author and journalist Ben Myers.
