With the release of his remarkable album "Primrose Green", he was showered with critical acclaim, including from NPR, Village Voice, Uncut, and Mojo. But he was also praised by musicians such as Robert Plant, who declared himself a big fan. 2016 promises to be just as breathtaking for Ryley Walker, who is pleased to announce his new album, "Golden Sings That Have Been Sung". His musical upbringing was marked by rock pioneers like Gastr Del Sol and Tortoise, and he remembers when, in 2009, he was just a teenager. He used to frequent improv nights organized by Wilco multi-instrumentalist Leroy Bach at The Whistler, a gallery/restaurant. Musical giants like Tortoise drummer Dan Bitney would gather there to play. And Ryley never missed an opportunity to see them, until the day he played with them, these people he saw as true heroes. Never, at that time, would he have thought that Bach would produce his album, and yet that is the case today with "Golden Sings That Have Been Sung". Thus, it is not at all surprising that the first single "The Halfwit In Me" is the sonic mirror of those sessions at The Whistler.
