Cuban pianist Rubén González was 77 years old when he recorded his first solo album in Havana in 1996. The album "Introducing Rubén González" was recorded in two days, immediately after the Buena Vista Social Club album and with most of the same musicians. While recording this first solo album, Rubén González surrounded himself with a handpicked group of musicians to perform, in "live" conditions, a selection of classic Cuban repertoire. He thus delivered "Introducing Rubén González," a classic and timeless Cuban piano album.
