THE VIVIAN LINE

Description

The who, what, where, why, and how of this 17th album from the Canadian songwriter are best explained by Ron himself: “The Vivian Line is the county road right next to us in Stratford (Ontario). Every time we have to leave town, we take the Vivian Line, which takes us to the highway. I wondered why that name when we moved here; it was intriguing... it represents a kind of escape from my old life in Toronto to this new phase I'm currently in. And it's also like a gateway back to my old life when you have to go there again. I recorded "The Vivian Line" with Brad Jones in Nashville. Brad had played bass on 3 of my previous albums. It's an almost baroque pop album with a very lush sound. The songs were mainly inspired by this new stage of life I'm in.” Ron Sexsmith is one of Canada's most accomplished singer-songwriters. He has written for albums by Rod Stewart, Michael Bublé, K.D. Lang, Emmylou Harris, and Feist. The producer of The Vivian Line, Brad Jones, is a music producer and power pop singer-songwriter. He has produced music for Josh Rouse, Cotton Mather, Chuck Prophet, Matthew Sweet, Imperial Drag, Jill Sobule, and Marshall Crenshaw.
