The marriage of acoustic blues with his Bamiléké dialect then seemed to him the natural conclusion of his artistic evolution. Supported by guitarist Mick Ravassat and percussionist Mathias Bernheim, the name of Roland Tchakounté has since established itself on the blues circuit, from Montreal to Cognac, from Paris to Chicago. This harmony is evident throughout what is to date the trio's most accomplished album, \"Blues Menessen.\" Like the lotus flower drawing its beauty from the mud, blues finds its roots in the horror of slavery.
