Brothers Roger and Brian Eno present their new project in association with Deutsche Grammophon: Luminous. This album is the complementary follow-up to Mixing Colours, the ambient pioneers' first album released last March. Luminous contains six exclusive tracks as well as Pewter, the bonus track previously reserved for the Japanese version of Mixing Colours.
The result of 15 years of collaboration, this new opus explores the nature of sound and invites listeners to immerse themselves in the infinite space hidden beneath the surface. The creative process began with Roger Eno playing pieces on his own and then recording them using a MIDI keyboard. He then sent the files to his older brother, who placed each piece in its own sonic universe, revising and manipulating its content. The mixing of colours creates bridges between the past and future of music. Roger's compositions evoke the melodic style of the late Schubert, while Brian's sound design draws inspiration from his revolutionary conceptual work on electronic music and his fascination with the creative potential of new media.
