Description

David Rodriguez came from a very musical family and is the father of Carrie Rodrigues. David was a singer-songwriter. Born in Texas, he moved to Europe and wrote wonderful songs. He was admired by artists such as Lucinda Williams and Butch Hancock and shared the stage with Townes van Zandt, John Prine, Blaze Foley, and many others, creating a cult following for himself within the Americana and roots communities. Rise and Shine was recorded with the Dutch band The Rhythm Chiefs shortly before his death in 2015. Today, almost 10 years after his passing, these 9 songs, where (as in many of his songs) his Mexican roots shine through, will be released on an album that will hopefully contribute to the legacy of his work.
