LOVE IN VAIN (vinyl)

Description

THE MYTH OF THE BLUESAn absolute classic. Cult.Robert Johnson, born May 8, 1911, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, wrote and recorded 29 songs, which are now 29 blues standards. (Some said he had written a 30th song... known only to the Devil.)Much of R. Johnson's life is shrouded in mystery. Legend has it that he inherited his musical talents by making a pact with the devil, selling his soul at the crossroads to achieve success: Son House, a famous blues musician and a contemporary of Johnson, fueled this legend by spreading the rumor that the musician had previously been a decent harmonica player, but an appalling guitarist - and this until Johnson disappeared for a few weeks in the Clarksdale, Mississippi area.We now know that Robert Johnson spent most of his life playing on street corners and at Saturday night dances, writing the soundtrack of rock for the next half-century. Absolute classics are present here such as "I Believe I'll Dust My Broom" and "Kind Hearted Woman Blues", or "Sweet Home Chicago". Essential!
