Je rêve donc je suis
Description
When Roberdam dreams, he speaks. Sometimes loudly. His voice resonates in every text. He carries the word, the stanza, and the meaning with the courage of authors; he transforms simple words into a vibration, following Brel's lessons to the letter. Because Roberdam plays in this yard, in his own way. He elegantly drags his little lorgnette through everyday life, his maintained melancholy in front of an unyielding reality, and escapes in the quest for an unreachable elsewhere. He writes about desire with his weapons: the word that snaps, the melody that strikes, and the feeling that cracks. Roberdam still wavers in the uncertainty of tomorrow and clings to the promise of the air of the times, with an underground fervor. "It took me a long time to complete this project. I wanted to give life to my words and find a musical landscape where I could tell melancholy lightly, with that color that feels good." One only has to reread the titles of this record to be convinced and measure the fullness of the character: "Forward," "Everything is fine," "Paris," "Everything and anything," "I dream therefore I am." He is a bit country here ("What a kick"), a wanderer with Ennio Morricone over there ("I'm feeling lazy") a bit intimidated elsewhere ("Your underwear"), always romantic ("Do you still love me," "A summer in the rain"). But Roberdam's strength is his delicacy, his art of the discreet line, of the assumed rhyme, in its prosodic obviousness, with assurance and density. His concern for the climate borders on that of accuracy, of research and the demand to capture fragile moments and encapsulate them in a living album, like a fraction of life sequenced into melancholic mini-movies, set to music in orchestral settings, felt and suggested. There you go, he is Roberdam, he dreams and he is.Buy Je rêve donc je suis at the best price
