"Le Petit Enfant trop Géant," the emergence of a singular storyteller. Ritual X, discovered in the spring of 2025 thanks to his series of freestyles Jazzbarzz, quickly made an impression with impactful tracks such as "Motorola" and "Madlib." His precise flow, accurate placements, and polished aesthetic immediately defined his artistic signature. A true musical turning point occurred last summer with the release of the latest Jazzbarzz, "FSR." The official release of his collaboration with composer and producer Ivy marks a real shift: Ivy's productions, heavily inspired by jazz, offer a new space for the Comorian-born rapper to channel his technique into emotion. From this rich alchemy emerges his first EP, "Le Petit Enfant trop Géant." The evocative title illustrates Ritual X's approach, depicting the story of an adult unable to conform to norms. The child here is not synonymous with naivety. He embodies Innocence: one who lives out his desires and needs without awareness of others' gaze, where the adult tends to restrain himself to maintain an appearance of "normality." The EP cover materializes this conflict: the artist is trapped in a triangle, torn between the Superficial, Introspection, and Needs, the human condition. "Le Petit Enfant trop Géant" stands as the manifesto of an artist too clear-sighted to pretend. This project is a finely orchestrated musical journey by Ivy. While the foundations of the tracks were crafted using his programming instruments, the director surrounded himself with a host of musicians to infuse organic life into each track. We find the keyboards of Maline, the piano of Tony Fly, and the double bass of Anthony Jouravsky (from the group AMG), the saxophone and flute of Paul Steen, the drums of Mélanie Centenero, and the electric bass of Jeune Oji. The whole is elevated in the opening track, "Préface," by the trumpet of Béesau. With this first seven-track format, Ritual X no longer just raps; he tells stories. He asserts himself as an elegant and poetic UFO in the current rap landscape. An artist with natural charisma who has chosen to keep his childlike soul intact.
