Mixed Sugar
Description
Although Regional Garland spent years in the shadows deep in Flint, Michigan, he composed, produced, and performed a large number of 70s soul songs that have a wide audience in many musical circles around the world. Particularly noteworthy tracks include "Girl, You Better Hurry" by The Perfections, "I Need Love" by 21st Generations, and "It's a Bad Feeling" and "Fifteen Ain't Young Anymore" for Mixed Sugar. Regional's music still resonates strongly today, having inspired generations of fans. This anthology brings together the best of a complex career, from his early compositions for local groups, his demo tapes recorded for Jerry Butler, Chicago soul impresario, to tracks released on his own label from the late 70s to the mid-80s. It is therefore a varied project, encompassing symphonic soul, raw funk, proto-disco, ballads, and boogie. Also included is a beautiful 32-page booklet illustrated with numerous photos and commentary by Ronnie Reese and Egon (founder of Now Again), as well as 2 bonus tracks.Buy Mixed Sugar at the best price
