Over the past decade, Real Estate has become a spearhead of the American pop scene thanks to its warm and polished tracks with captivating and unique melodies. Recorded over the course of a year, Real Estate's new album is the result of many conversations about its existential, environmental, and political concerns. The band considered new opportunities and, for the first time, called on outside collaborators. Real Estate notably worked with Sylvan Esso on the single "Paper Cup" and with Matt Barrick (Walkmen), Aaron Johnston (Brazilian Girls), and a string quartet to complete the recording sessions. With 'The Main Thing', Real Estate delivers a series of songs with bright melodies and polished production, marking a new turning point for this now unmissable band on the pop scene.
