The Franco-Catalan trumpeter Raynald Colom immediately captivates from the very first notes of his album A Million Dreams, of an enchanting beauty. Colom demands the listener's attention throughout the cohesive eight-track release, alongside pianist Tony Tixier, Joe Sanders on double bass and Francesco Ciniglio on drums. Born in France and splitting his time between Paris and Barcelona, Raynald Colom is a seasoned musician inspired by many genres and art forms, but with deep roots in flamenco. The album's title comes from an interview with Duke Ellington in which he is asked: 'what goes through your mind when you play?' and Ellington replies: "a million dreams." Colom says: "I love that concept. Essentially, that's what we're trying to do. We're not thinking about notes, we're thinking about dreams."
