False Flag is the debut album from RANGDA, a true supergroup bringing together three underground giants: guitarists SIR RICHARD BISHOP (SUN CITY GIRLS) and BEN CHASNY (SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE, COMETS ON FIRE) accompanied by CHRIS CORSANO (BJORK, SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE) on drums. The band alternates between fast and noisy tracks, and longer, slower, psychedelic, and oriental-tinged pieces in which the three musicians completely surrender to improvisation. RANGDA constantly surprises us throughout False Flag, offering music impressively versatile and masterful, but above all, extremely free and expressive, in the spirit of great albums by ORNETTE COLEMAN or SONIC YOUTH.
