"Pleasantville," a fantastic American comedy released in 1998 starring Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon, is known for its social commentary on civil rights. Randy Newman, recognized for his humor and emotional depth, composed a moving and memorable soundtrack. Director Gary Ross praises Newman's ability to capture the essence of the film through his music. Newman, a member of the famous Newman family, is an acclaimed composer for films such as Toy Story and Seabiscuit.
