THE POTATO KINGDOM

Description

It was in a studio in Scotland that the debut album of the Franco-English band Ralph Of London The Potato Kingdom was born. A dystopia parallel to our common reality, stagnant and media-saturated, a place where material obsession is sublimated into a daily potato cult, where aspirations are realized in the gutter, where kitsch becomes divine, a degraded romanticism, where we are all defiled in the streets of Plebeola, from throne to trough. Though it appears as a mirage at first, once the first steps are taken before the gates of the Kingdom, the setting Ralph has constructed opens up to an unknown domain that promises the viewer an opulence of nothingness and an abundance of worthless riches, the perfect environment for imagination to flourish, according to some.
