The name Raf Almighty may be unfamiliar to you, yet he has been on the scene for some time now. He is actually one half of Baltimore's dirtiest group, "Dirt Platoon", alongside his brother Snook Da Crook.For his first solo album, Raf Almighty decided to team up with the Effiscienz team and their talented producer Dj Brans.This new album from the Baltimore producer still retains that raw energy that characterizes the Dirts. Snook Da Crook appears on several tracks, including the very effective "Slumz", also featuring Brooklyn rapper Wyld Bunch. Raf also surrounded himself with Nutso (on the intro track), the unofficial 3rd member of Dirt Platoon: Fel Sweetenberg, Skanks, Milez Grimez, and Elaysh on "Stormy Monday", which from the very intro evokes the great Hip-Hop/R&B collaborations of the 90s.The recipe for this record remains that of the Effiscienz label: big effective beats, sharp flow, and always precise and meticulous scratches from Dj Djaz.Notable: 4 additional remixes on the CD version's tracklisting, produced by the label's various beatmakers: Mil, Fel Sweetenberg, Sir Williams (of Union Blak), and Dj Brans himself.An album that will delight all boom bap fans!
