An immense repertoire for instrumentalists and singers accompanied by \"piano, organ or harmonium\" thus flourished, enriched by numerous transcriptions intended to highlight the available instruments and the talent of musicians, whether amateur or professional like Gabriel Fauré or Charles-Marie Widor: these were, as is sometimes forgotten, true organistic muses of the salons of the Third Republic. Heir to this tradition, the great Marcel Dupré saw in this repertoire, in the midst of secularization, a means to \"link the organ to music in general.\" Among his students, many were those who, like the late Jean Guillou or Rolande Falcinelli, continued the gesture of their master and dedicated a part of their work to chamber music with organ.
