For its 10th anniversary, the Modigliani Quartet offers us their version of these essential works in the life of a Quartet. At the dawn of the 20th century, Paris experienced more than any other city the transformation of the arts of modern times. The vibrations of colors and lights on the canvases of Monet, Seurat, and their contemporaries were transformed into sounds in the work of Debussy, whose Quartet paved the way for a new aesthetic. Ten years later, Ravel crystallized the style, as if to fully realize the thoughts of his elder. Between these two jewels of the French repertoire, Saint-Saëns' first quartet proves to be a wonderfully endearing work, full of charm, humor, and elegance.
