Previously, it was the solo work of Mike Polizze, who has since surrounded himself with musicians to bring his ideas to life. In 9 tracks and just 30 minutes, Mike Polizze and his band deliver a great rock album where influences from the last four decades blend wonderfully. One thinks of The Thirteenth Floor Elevators jamming with Mudhoney or Blue Cheer playing with Oh Sees—in short, good, heavy sound with that pop touch that makes all the difference. Co-produced by Adam Granduciel of The War On Drugs, who also plays on the record. After Ty Segall in 2012, it seems that PURLING HISS is the rock discovery of 2013!
