Conceived as a political charge in response to the tumultuous upcoming election in the US, the new group Prophets Of Rage is composed of 3 members of Rage Against The Machine (TOM Morello, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk), CHUCK D (Public Enemy), B-REAL (Cypress Hill) and DJ LORD. Better described by Morello as an "elite intervention force of revolutionary musicians determined to confront this mountain of election nonsense," the group combines both the firepower of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill. In the LA Times, which simply headlined about them "Revolutionary," the group's mission has clearly been announced, promising "no rest until Cleveland," the site of the 2016 Republican National Convention, where they performed on July 19 in the margins of this gathering. The group then goes on tour across the United States until the election date. A portion of the proceeds from this tour will be donated locally to benefit the homeless.
