A true tour de force from the NWOBHM legends. Praying Mantis was a pioneering band in the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement in the UK. Present alongside other bands of the same genre on the influential 1980 compilation \"Metal For Muthas,\" they released their debut album, \"Time Tells No Lies,\" in 1981. After a hiatus, they reformed in 1990 to ride the wave of growing interest in classic NWOBHM, particularly in Japan, where they have always enjoyed a loyal fanbase. Initially formed by brothers Tino Troy on guitar and Chris Troy on bass in 1973, the band then welcomed Paul Di'Anno and Dennis Stratton, former members of Iron Maiden (both featured on the famous album \"Metal For Muthas\"). Guitarist Dennis Stratton remained with the band throughout the 90s, with the lineup completed by drummer Bruce Bisland and singer Mark Thompson-Smith replacing Di'Anno. Recorded in Nagoya in 1993, the first concert (on two CDs) is a raw and authentic live recording from their tour for the album \"A Cry For The New World,\" including classics such as \"Cheated\" and \"Captured City.\" The band returned to Nagoya in November 1998, and this concert is immortalized on CDs 3 and 4. Now led by singer Tony O'Hora, with Stratton, Bisland, and the Troy brothers, the band was then promoting the album \"Forever In Time.\" Praying Mantis continues to tour with its current members: Chris Troy, Tino Troy, Andy Burgess, John \"Jaycee\" Cuijpers, and Hans In 't Zandt.","brand":"Praying Mantis","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57489917772120,"sku":null,"price":20260501.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/praying-mantis_the-official-bootleg-box-set-vol-1-live-in-japan-1993-1998_2026_soc","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
