Powerplant returns with two emotionally charged tracks that blend pounding drum machines, howling synths, and shredded guitars with surreal and theatrical vocals. Led by London-based Ukrainian artist Theo Zhykharyev, the project continues to evolve while retaining its characteristic energy and intensity. "CrashingCars" is a frenetic synth-punk track. Powerful kicks, a nod to Bladee, drive the urgent basslines and haunting synth choruses, while Zhykharyev's voice shifts from high-pitched screams to tired, world-weary chants. On the other hand, "Never Smile" slows the pace with clanging guitars and deep vocals. It's a melancholic and introspective song, less frenetic, more somber. Although written years ago, these songs resonate anew with Zhykharyev, whose reflections on identity, conflict, and endurance are sharpened by his experience as a Ukrainian artist living in wartime.
