Reissue of Transmission, an instrumental compilation by the legendary band Porcupine Tree on 2LP.
Voyage 34, an instrumental composition from 1992/93, is a journey divided into 4 phases, lasting over an hour. This was P.T.'s entry into the ambient trance genre popularized by artists like The Orb. Combining trance rhythms with more typical Porcupine Tree textures and guitar solos, Voyage 34 was highly successful on the early 1990s ambient/chill out club scene (when it was originally released on two 45s). With the early 90s marked by an explosion of ambient music (a fusion of electronic music and techno), the goal of "Voyage 34" was to be a genre exercise, according to Steven Wilson.
