Minneapolis synth-pop duo Poliça is back with new features from Bon Iver and Boyz Noize. After an accidental fall that could have cost her life in early 2018, Channy Leaneagh was immobilized for months. Although this fourth studio album does not recount this debilitating accident, it addresses the theme of healing and reconstructing her identity through the redemptive power of writing. *When We Stay* takes Poliça to a whole new level of stylistic confidence, with a strong emphasis on untamed and determined tracks rooted in heavy synth basslines by the other half of the duo, Ryan Olson. For the creation of this album, Olson invited his closest collaborators into the studio for marathon sessions, so Bon Iver and Boyz Noize's touch can be found on this new Poliça album.
