All of this makes for a good album, but what transforms War All the Time into an exceptional one is the lyrics and their delivery. Jerry A took the dark side of the world around him and expressed it with surgical precision, in universal words, conveying everything futile and repugnant in a language better suited to celebrating the beauty of life. And these words remain as true today as the band's riffs are brutal.
