The exuberant French-Colombian combo Pixvae is back, and we can already feel the transcendent vibes of their latest release. With "Oì Vé," Pixvae returns with a supercharged cocktail that sounds like an invitation to a journey as mystical as it is festive, between Cali and Lyon. The formula, already widely recognized as magical, remains the same: the explosion of Colombian currulao coming into contact with an alloy extracted from the depths of rock and jazz. But "Oì Vé" marks a new evolution in this liberated reinterpretation of traditional Afro-Colombian music. This new repertoire revolves around the Marimba de Chonta, the central instrument of currulao. The original French team, with the power trio Kouma and Margaux Delatour's vocal prowess, joyfully reunites with their Colombian accomplices Juan Carlos Arrechea, Israel Quinones, and Jennifer "Xiomora" Torres. This powerful and subtle combination gains even more momentum with these original compositions and lyrics, which offer a new resonance with the group's initial energy, derived from traditional songs... All while carefully preserving the utterly epic character of this cross-border trance odyssey!
