Nashville-via-Boston rock band Pile present In the Corners of a Sphere-Filled Room. According to the band, it is an entirely improvised record that was recorded mostly during the sessions for their 2019 album Green and Gray. “This is a collection of noises we made on and off from December 2018 to January 2021, strung together to make just under an hour of music that we think sounds somewhat cohesive,” reads a description. In the Corners of a Sphere-Filled Room was recorded at Marcata Recording by Kevin S. McMahon. Bassist Alex Molini tracked overdubs and guitarist Chappy Hull added tape loops. Other contributions to the album include viola from Elisabeth Fuchsia, cello from Jane Scarpantoni, and guitar from McMahon.
