Its success and cult status inspired a 2002 remake titled "Swept Away," directed by Guy Ritchie and starring pop star Madonna. The soundtrack reflects the film's exotic setting, defined by its characteristic touch of samba, bossa nova, and lounge music, enhanced by Nora Orlandi's wordless vocals, in the purest Italian cinematic tradition of the 1960s and 1970s.
