Emerging while playing saxophone alongside John Coltrane in the 1960s, Pharoah Sanders has been described as "probably the best tenor player in the world." As a solo artist, he is especially appreciated by jazz fusion fans for the classic "You Got Got Have Freedom." This track is taken from his album Journey To The One released in 1980 and appears here for the first time on an entire side of a maxi-vinyl. "Got To Give It Up" is his exceptional interpretation of the Marvin Gaye classic. Originally, this track appeared on the album Love Will Find A Way, released in 1978 and produced by Norman Connors.
