Classic quadrophenia

Description

Now 70 years old and a century and a half after he wrote the iconic phrase Hope I die before I get old, Pete Townshend has created a classical version of the Who's flagship album Quadrophenia for symphonic orchestra, lyric artists, and choir. The symphonic version of Quadrophenia - an album originally released by the band in 1973 - is orchestrated by Rachel Fuller, composer, orchestrator, singer-songwriter, and also Pete Townshend's partner. The premiere will take place in July at the Royal Albert Hall, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Oriana choir. Classic Quadrophenia was recorded last October at the legendary Air Studios in London, conducted by Robert Ziegler, featuring the famous English tenor Alfie Boe and Pete Townshend himself on guitar.
