THE TEACHES OF

Description

Before she became Peaches, Merril Nisker flitted from folk to avant-jazz, with a stop in punk. A Canadian expat in Germany, she largely followed the artistic and geographical path of her friend and collaborator Gonzales. With her trusty Roland Groovebox 505, she concocted a kind of salacious hip-hop-electro-punk, not unlike the excesses of Karen Finley and the Yeastie Girls. Because Peaches talks about sex throughout this debut album (from "Fuck the Pain Away" to "Diddle my Skittle"). It's raunchy, it's raw, and if you don't like it, know that she doesn't give a damn (! sic)
