Description

A monster with a half-disfigured human face, dressed in an SS uniform, terrorizes a rural region of Normandy, savagely killing the people he encounters. Then, motorists break down on the departmental road not far away. Heading to a nearby inn, they learn from their hosts that the place is cursed...Shot on a shoestring budget (500,000 francs at the time) with amateur actors, Devil Story features numerous "cheap" special effects and plot inconsistencies that border on the most degenerate psychedelia. For these reasons, the most hardcore fans of ultimate B-movies worship it without limits, even beyond the borders of our beautiful country. Nanarland even re-released the film on DVD in 2010 through its Sheep Tapes label with numerous bonuses, including a making-of and an interview with director Bernard Launois. Thanks to the combined efforts of The Omega Productions and Specific Bis, this little-known gem of French-language soundtracks is finally being given a worthy first official release on limited red vinyl and CD.
