Flaming Pie is the next album in Paul McCartney's catalogue to receive the deluxe treatment of the Paul McCartney Archive Collection. As with previous editions in this series, Paul personally oversaw every aspect of the project, and the result is, as always, spectacular.
Flaming Pie is Paul McCartney's tenth solo studio album, released in 1997. Having been heavily involved in The Beatles Anthology project, Paul took the time to reflect on the working methods he and the other Beatles had established throughout their career, and applied them to what would become his first album in four years. Made in a much more spontaneous style, with songs recorded here and there, mainly on holiday, Paul called upon George Martin and Jeff Lynne, as well as Steve Miller, Ringo Starr, his wife Linda and his own son, James McCartney. Flaming Pie became one of Sir Paul's most acclaimed and best-selling albums.
