In 2022 the pandemic seemed to be receding to the point where artists could once again work together, hand-in-hand. So, as a sort of follow-up to his 2020 Joyful Noise Artist-In-Residency box set, Kramer considered the idea of a limited edition vinyl box set celebrating the joys of collaboration. It seemed even better to him as a six 7" EP project. The borderless landscapes of audio art, tempered by the imaginations of the chosen artists, then projected against the infinite myriads of mysteries between those eternal spinning rings. So here is the third EP of the project, Laments, featuring Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers). This project will not change the world, but the words and music that escape these grooves accurately express the love poured into the foundations of Nocturnes (with Britta Phillips), Psalms (with David Grubbs), Preludes (with Eerie Wanda), Elegies (with Jad Fair and Danielson), Laments (with Paul Leary) and Hymns (with Rob Crow).
