Paul Collins is one of the most enduring cult rockers of the late 70s and a founding member of the legendary band The Nerves (with Jack Lee and Peter Case). Since the beginning of his solo career in 1979, Paul Collins has released no less than 11 studio albums, including *Paul Collins* and *Paul Collins' Beat*. *Out of My Head*, his new record, is a return to the pure and natural power-pop sound he helped create in his youth. On this new album, Paul not only sings, but also plays drums and most of the guitars. With the collaboration of Paul Stingo on bass and harmonies, he delivers a true rock 'n' roll record like they don't make anymore: simple melodies with a classic songwriting structure, with Rickenbacker guitars drenched in juicy reverb, 60s pop harmonies, and groovy percussion, all recorded on tape by serious musicians. With a photo taken by legendary New York photographer Bob Gruen, *Out of My Head* is a testament to a man's eternal love for rock 'n' roll.
