A virtuoso keyboardist, singer, and producer, Patrice Rushen made her recording debut in the jazz sphere before achieving global success with her R&B/funk hit "Forget Me Nots" in 1982. Released in 1974 and featuring Joe Henderson (tenor saxophone), George Bohanon (trombone), and drummer Leon "Ndugu" Chancler, *Prelusion*, the first of her three jazz releases for the Prestige label, features five original compositions blending post-bop and fusion. 180-gram vinyl reissue in the ultra-high-quality "Jazz Dispensary" digging collection. Mastered from the original analog tapes.
