The 3 CDs "Paris Musette" have become the reference records for musette accordion music worldwide. Initiated by Franck Bergerot and Didier Roussin for the label created by Patrick Tandin, these productions aimed to provide the best recording conditions for major artists of a genre that had been neglected, which was nothing less than the French world music of the pre- and post-war era. Released in 1990 for volume 1, 1993 for volume 2, and 1997 for volume 3, these records were a phenomenon, revitalizing the accordion in France, within both world music and jazz formations as well as French chanson. Rediscovered origins, legitimized within an ennobled popular heritage, Paris Musette exported to the United States, Canada, and Asia, with numerous international tours, over 100,000 records sold, and a license in Japan exploited by Sony.
