A SUPER-VITAMINIZED NECTAR, A MUSICAL GUARANA! In my opinion, PAPAYE is a trio full of vitamins, both tender and bitter. Their music is pretty much like a Eurolines trip, sitting between a Czech person on the phone and an old man snoring. To put it simply, it's perfectly uncomfortable. Although the band is made up of members of Pneu, Room 204, and Komandant Cobra, it is, according to Africantape's label manager, their best project. Nevertheless, he clarified that he didn't want to be a pain about it. I must say, I'm not a big fan of side projects; they can be as disturbing as inbred children. But I love PAPAYE. Why? It's juicy pop that flirts with Deerhoof's Bontempi melodies, calculates quickly and precisely like early Don Caballero, and leaves a surprising and irresistible aftertaste à la US Maple. The band is concise and powerful with no other goal than to spread happiness to all lips.
