The third album by OZ, aptly titled "III Warning", was released in 1984. It was once again recorded in Stockholm at Electra Studios and produced by The Boss (Borje Forsberg). What was the musical difference between the first two albums and "III Warning"? Mark Ruffneck, original drummer and founding member, explains the album: "III Warning was undoubtedly a more direct album than the previous two. Our intention was simply to make a heavy metal album that we liked. III Warning was the first album where all the compositions were done in Stockholm. The whole band now lived in the same city, and our only goal was to make a good heavy metal album. We rehearsed all the tracks as best we could, because we finally had the opportunity. Before the recording, we talked to Borje about bringing in an outside producer, but he refused. Borje wanted us to produce the album ourselves, just as we had done for Fire In The Brain. Instead of an external producer, we had more time in the studio. We were all under pressure to release another great heavy metal album, following the success of Fire In The Brain."
