It is on OutKast's first album that the novice production duo Organized Noize made their debut and shaped one of the most distinctive sounds in 1990s popular music: part Hip-Hop, part Live, blending Southern guitar riffs, bouncy bass lines, and elements of early 1970s Soul. The album not only received critical acclaim but also achieved great commercial success, reaching the Top 20 of the albums chart.
