Description
When the tapes were made available within EMI, it was felt that the performance was too flawed for release. More recently, the original session tapes were re-examined, and it was discovered that the masters consisted primarily of the third day’s sessions. This release comprises most of the first day’s sessions, when the orchestra and conductor were fresher and had a more spontaneous approach.
