Description

The long collective improvisations regain a central place on Off Course, the new album by Osees built from vast sessions recorded before being gradually reshaped in the studio. John Dwyer and his musicians first freely develop their ideas, then rework the tapes, and finally return to direct recording to capture the definitive versions, enriched by the contributions of Tom Dolas and Brigid Dawson. The five compositions favor stretched developments, hypnotic keyboards, and rhythms inspired by krautrock, allowing each theme to evolve according to the group's interactions. Released in 2026, Off Course highlights a working method where composition arises as much from editing and rewriting as from the energy of collective performances.
