Fabien Touchard: Beauty of this World (2017) poem by Ilarie Voronca, The Clock and the Abyss (2016), Silence Falls in Me Like a Fruit poems by Anne Perrier, Study for Piano No. 1 (2010), In Hora Mortis, Study for Piano No. 4 (2016)*, Three Things (2013), poem by William Butler Yeats* / Pieces composed for and performed on the Opus 102, a 102-note piano with parallel strings designed by Stephen Paulello / The first monograph of composer Ilarie Voronca wrote Beauty of this World in troubled times, at the beginning of the Second World War. Reading this striking proclamation of hope today is incredibly uplifting. As for Anne Perrier, she has developed a subtle art of miniature, tender and simple... From these texts, a very particular light emanates, touching and inspiring. With these poets, I like to remind myself of the importance, even the urgency, of expressing and singing beauty today. Fabien Touchard studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris where he received 9 awards (in writing, composition, orchestration, analysis, improvisation, and vocal accompaniment), and at the University of Paris-IV Sorbonne where he obtained a Master's degree in musicology. A laureate composer of the Banque Populaire Foundation, the Franz Josef Reinl Foundation of Vienna/Munich, and the Charles Oulmont Foundation, his works have been performed in France, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Bulgaria, the United States... He taught harmony and keyboard harmonization at the University of Paris-IV Sorbonne before being appointed writing professor at the C.R.R. of Boulogne-Billancourt.
