On one side, Felix Mendelssohn, celebrated prodigy who composed the Violin Concerto in D minor at age thirteen. Lina Tur Bonet has rediscovered the first, unpublished version, which she presents here in a world premiere alongside the final version. Her flamboyant playing highlights the extraordinary vitality of invention that Felix would continue to develop. On the other side, Fanny Mendelssohn, hindered prodigy, is one of the first women to compose a string quartet. At 29, she appropriates this serious genre par excellence with a delightful freedom and audacity, a direct expressiveness, sometimes tender, anxious or fiery, which Lina Tur Bonet captures alongside the Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse.
