The CD Danse captures the full vitality of an extraordinary concert given in July 2025 at the Festival 1001 Notes. Under the direction of Chloé Meyzie, the Orchestre symphonique 1001 Notes engages in a dialogue with the universe of DJ Healer Selecta, who mixes live for a bold musical journey between classical repertoire and popular cultures. Emblematic of true cross-pollination, the Orchestre 1001 Notes infuses classical music with a decidedly contemporary energy and flavor, bringing styles and eras into conversation in a living and accessible approach. From the raw energy of Motörhead with Ace of Spades to the elegance of Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 1, from the enchanting colors of Arturo Márquez's revisited Danzón No. 2 to the garage spirit of Psycho by The Sonics, each piece reveals a new face of dance. Bizet, Debussy, Saint-Saëns, and Tchaikovsky rub shoulders with ABBA, the Ramones, and Dick Dale in a fluid and contrasting sequence. Recorded live.
