In his latest and most personal album to date, Omer Klein offers us an insightful look at the contemporary world. Born in 2020 during the pandemic, these ten tracks reflect his perspective as a human being, pianist, composer, bandleader, father, and multicultural artist.
By observing the outside world and his own feelings, Klein gradually envisioned an extraordinarily deep and vibrant narrative arc, like the miniature version of a painting.
In addition to the six solo piano pieces where his attachment to the instrument is stronger than ever, the album's other four tracks are performed with his longtime partners Haggai Cohen-Milo on bass and Amir Bresler on drums. The resulting tension creates thrilling contrasts between contemplative moments and the trio's energy. This unique vibe appears from the very beginning of the album in the two chained tracks 'Kavana' and 'Baghdad Blues,' which blend Middle Eastern romanticism with jazz improvisation.
