Omar Sosa and Cuban singer-violinist Yilian Cañizares have come together to create Aguas, a very personal album of rare beauty. Aguas is an innovative and captivating blend of the artists' Afro-Cuban roots, Western classical music, and jazz. The album is dedicated to water and particularly to Oshun, the Goddess of Love and Mistress of Rivers in the Lucumí tradition, or Santería, as it is called in Cuba. As water is synonymous with life, energy, strength, and space, the music of the album draws inspiration from significant influences of water - its hidden powers, its transmutations, and its infinite creation.
