Reissue of the first album (unavailable for several years) by saxophonist Oliver Lake, "Ntu: The Point From Which Creation Begins" from 1971, blending African rhythms and spiritual jazz. Lake has notably worked with Lou Reed, A Tribe Called Quest, Bjork, composes for the Brooklyn Philharmonic, and is a member of the avant-garde jazz group World Saxophone Quartet. "Ntu: The Point From Which Creation Begins" features Lake playing with other masterful instrumentalists: Joe Bowie (brother of Lester Bowie, who would later form Defunkt), Don Moye (Art Ensemble of Chicago), and Charles Bobo Shaw.
